• Leave the bandage on for approximately 2 hours (unless using Saniderm/Recovery DermShield)
   

• Wash hands thoroughly before removing the bandage
   

• After removing the bandage, wash the tattoo gently with anti-bacterial soap, water, and your hand (NO WASH CLOTH)
   

• Pat dry with a clean towel/paper towel
   

• After drying, apply a THIN layer of Aquaphor or protective ointment

  • TOO MUCH OINTMENT CAN CAUSE HEALING ISSUES​
     

• Apply a thin layer of Aquaphor/protective ointment to the clean tattoo 2-3 times per day until the tattoo for approximately 3-5 days
   

• By the end of the first week, your tattoo may start peeling. DO NOT PICK AT IT! Let the skin heal naturally!
   

• Switch to a color-free, unscented lotion 2-3 times per day for about 2 weeks
   

• Avoid contact with anything that can introduce your healing tattoo to harmful bacteria or unnecessary trauma 
   

• Remember to:

        -wear loose-fitting clothing while healing

        -clean your bedding and towels often

        -wash hands prior to cleaning/applying lotion
 

• After your tattoo is healed, use sunblock to protect it from direct sunlight (failure to do so can result in fading and discoloration)
   

• NO SOAKING/SUBMERGING

  • including pools, baths, hot tubs, open bodies of water
     

• NO TANNING
